Welcome the day with a brisk walk up to Bodmin Moor or perhaps enjoy some yoga on the lawn before enjoying breakfast and a pot of rich Cornish coffee on the cobbled terrace over looking Dartmoor. Just a short drive from Port Isaac and Boscastle, fill your days with lashings of country air, local fodder and stunning Cornish sea views. For some romantic inspiration, stargazing in summer will be a dream, with clear skies, the view of the Milky Way is breathtaking and in the winter months with the plunging darkness of the moor, there's nothing cosier than an evening spent fireside enjoying a good film and some Cornish Gin or perhaps curl up on the sumptuous sofa adorned with cushions and throws, enjoy a glass of Cornish sparkling wine with some of the delicious culinary delights that Cornwall has to offer.
Whether you’re a Poldark fanatic or Fisherman’s Friend fan, the famous sights and sounds of these much loved characters are easily accessible from this romantic cottage.

Garden

The Lambing Shed has been lovingly restored so you can enjoy the most comfortable of stays. The interior is luxurious, creative and perfect in every way. There is an open plan living area with a stylish well equipped kitchen.The glow from the Optiflame stove in the living room warms the comfortable seating area where you can relax after a day exploring this stunning county. The bedrooms are also impeccably presented, where the finest linens adorn superbly comfortable beds and are complemented by beautiful cushions and throws.

The Lambing Shed

There are stunning, golden beaches with miles of soft sand just a short drive away on the north coast. Trebarwith Strand, Rock, Polzeath, Crackington Haven, and Widemouth Bay (many great for surfing and stand up paddleboarding) are reachable within 30 minutes; as are the picturesque fishing villages of Port Isaac, Boscastle, Padstow and Fowey many of which have a wealth of fine dining restaurants from celebrity chefs such as Paul Ainsworth, Rick Stein, Nathan Outlaw and Adam Handling  (be sure to book in advance!); there are some fabulous Cornish pubs and stunning little shops and galleries to visit too!

Cornwall Beach

If you like fly fishing, then The Lambing Shed is an ideal spot with Rose Park Trout fishery just a short drive away in Tresibbet; or perhaps you’d like to explore the moors on horseback, there’s horse riding lessons and pony trekking close by at Hallagenna in St Breward.

A trip to the south coast is also recommended, the fishing ports of Fowey, Polperro and Mevagissey to name but a few, are truly beautiful. The world-famous Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan provide a truly amazing experience. Or, perhaps enjoy a light lunch or afternoon Tea at The Duchy Nursery, Lostwithiel, with its stunning views over to Restormel Castle. Take a cycle or a run along the Camel Trail at Bodmin or Wadebridge then wander around the town and enjoy some of the small independent shops and when hungry, stop for a delicious Cornish pasty!

Sheep

Straight from the barn door, you can walk over Bodmin Moor, where you can experience the views from the highest parts of Cornwall, Rough Tor and Brown Willy, the scenery is simply breathtaking; or perhaps take a wander down the country lane and enjoy the village of Altarnun where the church of St Nonna “the Cathedral of the Moor” can be found. The Rising Sun pub is just under a mile from the The Lambing Shed door, here you will enjoy roaring fires in winter, delicious Cornish fayre and a pint of locally brewed beer.

Private drive with parking for two cars. Private patio and garden to rear with rolling countryside and moorland views. Picnic bench, bistro table and chairs, a fire pit, a gas barbecue (on request) and a rotary drying line. Use of an area of the extensive grounds of West Carne Farm.

Facilities & Services

Heating is via an oil central heating system with radiators and an electric log burning stove. The well-equipped kitchen has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, an air fryer, toaster, kettle, fridge with icebox, Nespresso coffee machine, washer/dryer and a slimline dishwasher. The sitting area has a digital Smart TV with catch up TV and (for account holders) access to Amazon Prime and Netflix. There is unlimited superfast WiFi available at the property.

Miscellaneous

Electricity, heating, bed linen, bathrobes and towels are all included. Beach towels are not provided. There is private parking for two cars. No dogs or children under 10 years old and no smoking / vaping  inside the barn or surrounding grounds.

Short breaks (minimum 3 night stays)  - available all year round.
Weekly breaks (minimum 7 night stays) -  available all year round; weekly discounted rate applies.
